About us

First registered as an Incorporated Society in 1994, the New Zealand Institute of Building Surveyors (NZIBS) currently holds over 200 registered, transitional and student members across New Zealand. NZIBS offers core module training, events and publications to assist Registered Building Surveyors, and the wider industry, with providing the expert professional advice to inform a better built environment.

Our history

Roy Faris, Clerk of Works and Building Surveyor and Theo Marlow, Clerk of Works, Building Surveyor and Quantity Surveyor spearheaded the establishment the New Zealand Institute of Building Surveyors in 1993.
